Our Care is Centered Around You
We provide full diagnostic evaluation and treatment of all cardiovascular conditions, and combine functional medicine with traditional approaches. The goal is to engage you, our patient, in setting yourself on a path to optimal energy and function for life. We aim to deliver the right care for the right patient at the right time.
Integrative Cardiology &Functional Medicine
Dr. Druz and her team provide personalized, patient-centered approach focused on identifying and treating cardiac and vascular conditions using evidence-based care, and functional medicine. We take care of angina, aortic disease, atrial fibrillation, arrhythmia, chest pain, coronary artery disease, diabetes, metabolic syndrome, palpitations, shortness of breath, heart failure, passing out or dizziness (syncope), hypertension, dyslipidemia (cholesterol problems), and obesity. Personalized genetic testing is an integral component of our treatment process. In addition to genetic testing, we use expanded cholesterol profiles (particle analyses), check inflammation markers, hormone balance, and include additional functional medicine testing, if needed.
A integrative cardiology and functional medicine consult is an in-depth evaluation using detailed history intake, review of prior test and procedures, and tailored assessments to identify root causes of heart and vascular disease, hypertension, elevated cholesterol, metabolic syndrome, hormonal imbalances and toxicities.
We focus on the root causes to help you accomplish your goals. Inflammation, hormonal imbalance, stress and nutritional deficiencies are powerful drivers of disease. A holistic cardiology and functional medicine consult is appropriate for the following patients:
Patients with established heart disease, family history of heart disease, heart failure, arrhythmia.
Patients with early atherosclerosis (positive calcium score, or abnormal vascular ultrasound), or genetic carriers of high-risk single-nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs), such as 9p21 and/or MTHFR C677T.
Patients with disordered cholesterol metabolism, especially if intolerant of statin medications, or preferring to avoid them.
Patients with ongoing inflammation, related to autoimmune and inflammatory disorders, including those with elevated inflammatory markers, such as high-sensitivity C-reactive protein.
Patients with metabolic syndrome, insulin resistance, pre-diabetes or diabetes.
Patients suffering from signs and symptoms of hormonal imbalances, such as irritability, fatigue, excessive weight gain or inability to lose weight, decreased libido, skin and hair changes, temperature intolerance, sleep disturbance, emotional instability.
Integrative Medicine is science, humanity, art and imagination all in one. There are no cardiac conditions that would not benefit from considering a whole person in a context of their life, habits, beliefs, likes and dislikes. There are so many opportunities: from prevention at the cellular level for those at risk of cardiac disease to a full spectrum of nutritional, exercise and behavioral intervention in those with established risk factors or known disease. Holistic and Functional Medicine Consults are provided out-of-network and can be separate visits or part of the FIT in Your GENES® Program. Please fill out this questionaire or contact us for more information.
