Regina Druz, MD, FACC, FASNC
Dr. Druz is a nationally recognized expert in cardiac imaging. She has a long-standing interest in cardiac disease prevention, and integration of nutritional and fitness approaches in cardiac care. Dr. Druz graduated in the top 10 of her class from the Cornell University Medical College in 1995. She completed her residency in 1998, and cardiovascular fellowship training in 2001, both at the New York Presbyterian Hospital-Cornell University Medical College. Dr. Druz brings over a decade of experience gained in academic and private settings into fulfilling her professional dream: integrating functional medicine into care of EVERY patient. She has assembled a team of outstanding experts committed to preservation of wellness and health.
Dr. Druz is board-certified in Cardiovascular Disease and Internal Medicine with subspecialty certifications in Nuclear Cardiology, Adult Echocardiography and Cardiac Computed Tomography. She is a Diplomate of the American Board of Anti-Aging and Regenerative Medicine, and is enrolled in Advanced Clinical Practice Certification Program through Institute for Functional Medicine (AFMCP). She is a board member of the American Society of Nuclear Cardiology and plays an active role in the American College of Cardiology Cardiovascular Imaging Leadership Council. Dr. Druz has authored numerous peer-reviewed research publications. She is an Associate Professor at the Hofstra NSLIJ School of Medicine.
Dr. Druz is a creator of the pioneering program-Functional and Integrative Therapies based on Genome, Environment, Nutrition, Exercise, Supplements (Fit In Your Genes). The program is based on cutting edge functional medicine approaches to heart and vascular disease. Dr. Druz provides a suggestion on the nutritional and supplemental therapies for every patient during a typical office visit. Appointments can be scheduled for traditional cardiac care, holistic cardiology and functional medicine consult, nutritional intervention, weight loss, and wellness and anti-aging counseling separately or as a part of a comprehensive 12-24 weeks program. Dr. Druz consults and treats all cardiac conditions, and is available to provide a second opinion or to suggest an experienced sub specialist for cardiac surgeries and procedures. She is a passionate believer in creating web-based and mobile tools for patient engagement. In 2013, Dr. Druz launched a start-up company, iVisitMD, Inc., that connects patients seeking evaluation for urgent symptoms with healthcare professionals for walk-in visits.
Christina Jones, MD
Christina Jones, M.D. is a Board Certified Family Physician, who brings her extensive experience in hormone balance to our practice. Dr. Jones practiced in Los Angeles, California since finishing her residency in 1999 ,in a variety of venues, including her own private practice. Dr. Jones received her undergraduate degree in Classical Ballet, and then completed her medical training at the Medical College of Pennsylvania, graduating in 1995. She went on to complete her residency in Family Medicine at Bryn Mawr Family Practice, and in March 2016 she completed Institute for Functional Medicine Advanced Functional Medicine Certification Practice (AFMCP) training.
Dr. Jones brings her background as a dancer, functional nutritionist and a health coach to the practice of medicine. As a mother of two, she always sought integrative approaches to her daily life and translated those into her medical practice.. Dr. Jones teaches Yoga and earned her 200-hour Teacher Training Certificate from Yogaworks. Dr Jones also has a strong interest in Women’s Health and Bio-Identical hormones and weaves these into her practice when appropriate. As an integral member of Integrative Cardiology, and the Holistic Heart Center of Long Island, Dr. Jones will be seeing patients who are looking to enhance their well-being and vitality through preventative efforts, optimize their metabolic balance, and build stress resilience.
Marie Ruggles, MS, RD, CN, CDE
Marie Ruggles is a Certified Nutritionist, Registered Dietitian, Essential Oils Educator, and Certified Diabetes Educator. She is an award winning author and lifestyle wellness program facilitator. She has a master's degree in nutrition & public health from Columbia University and is on a mission to teach women how to care for themselves and their families naturally. By developing a unique method of incorporating essential oils into her wellness protocols, Marie is able to bring about more rapid shifts in physical and emotional well-being.
At the Integrative Cardiology Center of Long Island, Marie leads stress reduction workshops, and essential oils education for patients and medical professionals. Her unique approach to wellness is focused on combining a formidable knowledge of nutrition with the benefits of essential oils.
