FAQ

Precision Cardiology is based on the principles of delivering the right treatment to the right person at the right time and in the right setting, and taking care of the whole person. Using traditional medical treatments, integrative and functional medicine, the goal is to focus on the root causes of symptoms and personalize the treatment. This allows to use advances in pharmacogenomics, nutrigenomics, metabolic, nutritional, and exercise approaches in addition to pharmacological treatments, cardiac procedures, and interventions. More information can be found in our Steps to Health Programs.

Our physicians practice comprehensive cardiology. This includes cardiac-focused consultation, diagnosis, and treatment. Steps to Health visits include a review of nutritional, metabolic, genetic, and environmental factors, a review of all records and prior procedures, an integrative medicine-focused physical exam, and specialized testing. The goal of these visits is to provide personalized treatment, including pharmacological and nutraceutical interventions, nutritional guidance, and correction of underlying root causes and imbalances. You can schedule your Steps to Health visit now, or contact our Patient Coordinator for more information. Both in-person office and telemedicine visits are available.

We require a Step 1 Explore visit for two main reasons: 1) to make sure you are medically stable and safe to proceed with the precision cardiology program, addressing any care gaps, and 2) to streamline your testing to fit your needs, saving you time and money. We found that this approach works best for most patients, even though some may have already received integrative and conventional care. Step 1 visit is $299 (30 minutes).

No, you can have a Step 1 visit without the toolkit. However, we recommend Heartwell Toolkit for all Step 1 visits to personalize your evaluation based on the up-to-date test results. If you have prior lab results, those will be used during your visit. You will receive a recommendation for further testing to proceed to Step 2.

You can purchase a toolkit in our store or by registering on our patient portal and selecting a Step 1 visit with a Toolkit as an option. Toolkit fees differ based on the type selected. All fees for toolkits include the Step 1 visit fees ($299).
